Focus: Freihändler Film Produktion
WF Online Series 2025 #3: December 12–19

Freihändler Filmproduktion GmbH, based in Basel, Switzerland, is an independent production company specializing in documentaries, animation films, and video art. Founded by Stella Händler and Claudia Frei, the company has been active since 2000, developing and producing a diverse range of projects for both national and international markets. Freihändler Filmproduktion collaborates closely with authors, directors, and artists, forming partnerships with Swiss and international co-producers and broadcasters to bring a wide array of themes and artistic expressions to the screen.

For this program, we will also feature an audio interview with Stella Händler, who will discuss her career journey and the role of women producers in the Swiss film landscape.

On WF Online Series

The WF Online Series features three to four curated screening programs annually, each centred around a distinctive curatorial concept. The series highlights productions from Basel, Switzerland, and around the globe. Each program is available to stream for one week.
